From July 29 to August 7, 2024, young people from all over Europe gathered in picturesque Balatonszemes, Hungary, for an inspiring Erasmus+ Youth Exchange. Together, they set off on a journey of cultural discovery, creativity and connection.
Project goal? Bringing young people closer through the universal language of dance ! Participants worked together to create a website, which will include short video tutorials on traditional dances from each partner country. These videos not only preserve and promote the shared cultural heritage, but also highlight the power of dance (and therefore the art itself) in promoting mental and physical well-being and intercultural cohesion and collaboration.
But the project didn't stop there! A digital campaign, driven by young people's passion and creativity, was launched to spread European values, celebrate cultural diversity and promote healthy coping mechanisms in times of uncertainty.
Over the course of the project, awareness of the profound link between physical and mental health and well-being and understanding cultural diversity has grown. Exploring the rich traditions of our diverse cultures, we learned how dance can be a source of joy, unity and resilience. This experience was a celebration of our common humanity.
The project is co-financed by the European Union and organized by the bettermaking Ifjúsági Alapítvány (@the_bettermaking_hungary)
